The west end has grown into some of the region's busiest wedding territory, and its venues have their own personality: newer rooms, generous parking, and a lot of golf clubs.
Kanata and Stittsville venues tend to be modern: clean walls, neutral carpet, good ceiling height and, often, a great deal of window. That is a gift and a complication. The light is beautiful for a 4pm ceremony and works against you for an evening reception, when uncovered glass turns into black rectangles and your uplighting has nothing to bounce off.
For west-end rooms we usually recommend draping the window wall as well as the feature wall, which warms the whole room after dark and gives your photographer a clean background from any angle. Golf club receptions get a slightly different treatment again, since the view is the point until the sun goes down.

Kanata is roughly 25 to 35 minutes from central ottawa. Any travel is quoted openly as its own line item so you can see exactly what it costs. We don't fold it invisibly into the design price.
Six to twelve months for a Saturday between May and October, which is when this region's venues fill up. Winter and weekday dates are usually comfortable at three months. Ask regardless of timing. We deliberately hold inventory back for short-notice bookings, and we have put a full wedding together on a week's notice before.
After 30 years we have worked in most of them, and where we haven't we do a site visit before quoting. Tell us the venue name and we'll tell you straight away what we know about its ceiling height, rigging rules and load-in window.
Yes, on every quote. Our team delivers, installs, sets every table and returns at the end of the night to strike. Nobody in your family should be folding linens at 1am. Inside Ottawa there is no travel fee. For Valley and out-of-region venues we quote travel transparently up front.
Very happily. We work alongside planners, photographers, DJs and florists every weekend and we are used to being one part of a bigger team. If you already have a florist, send us their proposal and we will design the decor to sit with it rather than against it.
Yes, and this has been core to what we do since 1996. Hindu mandaps, nikah and mehndi settings, Sikh ceremonies, Afghan and Persian receptions, Lebanese and Ethiopian weddings, church and civil ceremonies. We have said from the very beginning that we work with all cultures and ethnicities, and we mean it literally. You should not have to explain your own traditions to your decorator.
