What we actually do

Your venue hands you a rectangle. We hand back a room.

Beige walls, a stack of speakers in the corner, a fire exit exactly where the photographer wants to stand. Almost every hall in this city looks like that at 9am on a Saturday. It is not a flaw. It is a blank canvas that most couples never get to see finished before they sign.

Our job is the eight hours between that and your first guest walking in. Full-wall drapery measured to the ceiling. A backdrop your speeches happen against. Fifteen tables set to the same standard as the head table. Lighting programmed so faces photograph properly at dinner and the dance floor looks like a dance floor by ten.

We have been doing exactly this in Ottawa for 30 years, with our own inventory and our own crew. Nothing is sub-contracted, so nothing gets lost between vendors.

Real weddings, real rooms

Every photograph here is
a wedding we built

No stock photography, no renders, no borrowed portfolios. These are Ottawa and Gatineau rooms, shot on the day, before the doors opened.

Since 1996

You shouldn’t have to explain your own wedding to your decorator.

We have said it plainly since our very first website: we work with all cultures and ethnicities. Nearly thirty years later it is still the reason most families find us.

Hindu mandaps with the clearances your priest needs. Nikah stages with a low settee and calligraphy. Mehndi settings in marigold and mirror. Afghan and Persian receptions with carved gold thrones. Sikh ceremonies, Lebanese and Ethiopian celebrations, church halls and city hall. Henna baskets, which we have been building by hand since before anyone in this city offered them.

Tell us the ceremony and we will tell you what we have already built for it. We will also plan your mehndi, your nikah and your reception as one event rather than three separate invoices.

How it works

Effortless for you,
obsessive for us

From the first conversation to the last candle we pack away, this is how a Brides Night wedding comes together.

  1. 01

    The consultation

We meet, in person or over video, and talk about your venue, your culture, your colours and the feeling you want when the doors open. Free, and no pressure.

  2. 02

    Your design board

We build a custom design proposal with layouts, fabrics, florals and lighting, refined together until it is unmistakably yours.

  3. 03

    The transformation

Our crew arrives early and quietly transforms the room. Drapery, florals, tables, chairs, lighting, down to the last perfectly tied sash.

  4. 04

    You just celebrate

When the last dance ends, we are already there. Full teardown and removal, so you leave with the memories and not the mess.

you get married, we handle the rest

Where couples usually start

Three ways in

Every wedding is quoted individually. These are the shapes most couples land on, so read them as a starting point and move pieces between them freely.

The Essentials

A finished room, without the full build.

Couples whose venue is already handsome, or who want the guest experience covered first.

  • Floor-length linens, overlays and napkins in your palette
  • One centrepiece design across all guest tables
  • Head table or sweetheart table styling
  • Cake table and signing table dressing

We don’t publish prices because a hundred-guest hall and a four-hundred-guest ballroom aren’t the same job. Send your date and guest count and you’ll have an itemised quote, with options at different levels, within a couple of days.

Zia made our wedding more memorable than we could have imagined with his elegant decor that stunned all the guests. We thoroughly enjoyed working with him and couldn't recommend him highly enough!

Before you ask

The questions we get every week

Honestly, the range is wide enough that any number we quote here would mislead you. Chair covers and linens for a hundred guests is a very different project from a full ceiling drape, a floral wall and a built stage. What we can promise is an itemised quote with real options at different levels, so you can see exactly what each piece costs and decide where your budget goes. Most couples are surprised by how much a room changes for less than they expected.

Six to twelve months for a Saturday in peak season, which here runs May through October. Those dates fill first and we do turn couples away. Winter and weekday weddings are usually comfortable at three months. If your date is sooner, ask anyway. We deliberately hold inventory back for short-notice bookings, and we have put a full wedding together on a week's notice before. It is not our favourite way to work, but it can absolutely be done.

There is a practical minimum for any wedding that needs a crew, a truck and a full setup day, and we will tell you what it is on the first call rather than after you have filled in three forms. For smaller intimate weddings we would rather point you to the pieces that will make the most difference than take a booking that disappoints you.

Yes, on every quote. Our team delivers, installs, sets every table and returns at the end of the night to strike. Nobody in your family should be folding linens at 1am. Inside Ottawa there is no travel fee. For Valley and out-of-region venues we quote travel transparently up front.

Very happily. We work alongside planners, photographers, DJs and florists every weekend and we are used to being one part of a bigger team. If you already have a florist, send us their proposal and we will design the decor to sit with it rather than against it.

Yes, and this has been core to what we do since 1996. Hindu mandaps, nikah and mehndi settings, Sikh ceremonies, Afghan and Persian receptions, Lebanese and Ethiopian weddings, church and civil ceremonies. We have said from the very beginning that we work with all cultures and ethnicities, and we mean it literally. You should not have to explain your own traditions to your decorator.
